We are a very friendly and social camera club, open to anyone interested in photography. Our aim is to encourage and advance our members’ photography at all levels via lectures, demonstrations, competitions, exhibitions, Coddiwomples, field trips, and interaction with club members.
We meet on Thursday evenings throughout the year, except for the Christmas period. In the winter months, we hold our meetings in our clubhouse at St Piran’s Hall in Goldsithney, near Penzance, and during the Summer months, we meet at various locations around West Cornwall, where we hold weekly evening field trips.
If you are considering joining a camera club, we would like to meet you, so why not come along for a couple of evenings to see what we are all about? You’ll be able to see or do some photography, chat with other enthusiasts, and even get a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit (if we are in the clubhouse).
We are a democratic club with every member having an equal say in running the club, however we do elect a committee to do the donkey work.
Unlike most camera clubs that meet from September to April, our club programme runs from May to April.
We have an organised summer programme from the start of May to the end of August. This allows our newer members at the start of their photography journey to spend time using their cameras with our more experienced members, where questions can be asked and help given, to improve their camera skills in different locations and in various weather conditions.
At the start of September, we head into our clubhouse, until the end of April, for our winter programme. These evenings are great for mixing with other members, and meeting those who do not participate in the summer programme. You will see some great guest speakers, see our member’s photography… and learn as you go. Our winter season also includes “Technical Tuesdays” and “Inter-Club Battles” with other clubs, most of these events on Zoom and free to attend.
If you are interested in joining, or just want to come along for an evening, you are welcome.
Enjoy the company of like-minded members who are friendly and always more than willing to offer advice when asked.
Improve your photography knowledge by taking part in our workshops and attending our speaker presentations.
Enter our competitions using feedback from judges to help you progress with your photography skills.
