Our membership has grown over the recent years and we are now classed as a large club with around 55 members, although our tyical attendance for the winter meetings is 25-35 members. We regularly have guests at our meetings, whether it be with a view to joining the club or just to see a guest speaker. Members of other clubs are welcome to join, several of our current members attend other clubs. We are active all year round, with a full summer programme of events out on location.

We have free light refreshments, including decaf and soft drinks, during the interval at every indoor meeting, however the bar at the centre is available to us if you fancy something a little stronger. Occasionaly members bring cakes and other nibbles along.

Guest Speakers

Every winter season we have between six and eight evening when we invite guest speakers to come along and entertain us with their photography related presentations, based on their work or interests. Most genres are covered each year.

2019 an evening with Hugh Hastings, a Sony ambassador and Mark Baber, Sony events manager, who brought a range of Sony products to demonstrate.

Speaker Evenings by our Members

We hold between six and ten speaker evenings annually, where our members can give presentations of their recent work, offer advice, ask for help, have images critiqued… and anything else photography related. These presentations can be a whole evening, a half evening or a ten minute slot. Recently we have had a demonstration of camouflage used by a member for wildlife photography and a short image quiz.

Image Review Evenings

Between three and five evenings where we pick holes in the images shown on the night, the odd compliment does get thrown in too.
